Kelsea Ballerini is one of the newest and brightest stars in country music today and her greatest influence is the incomparable Taylor Swift.

Ballerini graced the cover in Elite Daily’s debut digital issue and spoke about getting love advice from Keith Urban and being influenced by Taylor Swift. The country superstar has spoken candidly in many interviews and we aren’t shocked that she’s influenced by miss Swift. After all, the singer grew up listening to her, and you can certainly hear the influence in her music.

In the beginning stages of Ballerini’s career, Swift took to Twitter her love for the country starlet’s new EP, especially the track “Yeah Boy” that she was blaring in her car with the windows down. We can only imagine what it was like being Ballerini in the moment. Ever since, the two have become the closest of friends who openly support each other and their respected careers.

Ballerini continues to rise to the top with a sold out tour, heading out on the road with Keith Urban, and being friends with the incomparable Swift, who has supported the songstress and has even invited her on stage during her 1989 World Tour to sing the hit “Love Me Like You Mean It”.

So, what does the 24-year old starlet say about the singer? For one, Swift has inspired her and she doesn’t shy away from that truth. ““She tweeted about my EP before my first single was even Top 40. When people compare us, I hope that it’s because she’s always kept songwriting and her fans at the forefront. And that’s always something that I hope to take from her and what she does…. Obviously she’s in a super different place in her life. She’s in pop and I’m really happy in country,” Ballerini tells Elite Daily.

She also spoke about how Swift has helped her continue to stay relevant in music. “The best kind of artists are the ones that change but stay the same, if that makes sense. It’s hard to do and I think that’s why a lot of artists have a shorter career… It’s something that I want to learn from people like Taylor [Swift] and like Keith [Urban] and people that somehow reinvent themselves but stay the same.”

What incredible advice Swift has given Ballerini. We don’t blame her for being influenced by the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer. After all, she’s influenced all of us and is one of, if not the most inspiring artist in the world. We are rooting for these two and are praying for a future collaboration.
