When people show their true character, stab you in the back or decide you aren’t good enough for them anymore, make sure to put “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” by Taylor Swift up to 11.

It’s the song most everyone can relate to as we’ve all encountered childish, immature situations in life with people we thought we could trust. Taylor Swift has, of course, dealt with similiar situations, which is why she penned the track “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things.”  And this is why it’s our Song of the Week or maybe it’ll be our Song of the Century because we relate and just love it that much.

The song is brilliant production wise and lyrically as Swift has stated she wrote it in the way her situation was like, childish and immature. We can relate and we love the genius who created this brilliant track. If you’ve ever lost someone or have been stabbed in the back, this song really is for you. What will it be like on tour? We are so excited to find out. Needless to say, if you’re wanting to throw some major shade at all the haters, this is the song for you.

During a secret session, Swift stated the reason why she penned the track the way she did, stating that it drew from experiences of fame and the media and how they treat people. She has stated that she would throw big parties and invite her friends on stage with her during the 1989 world tour. To her, she was being a friend but the media chose to twist it all around, which caused Swift to eventually move out of the public out completely. The track is comical, real and every bit relatable to the famous and average person. Take a listen to it below:
