Photographers Mert and Marcus Discuss Collaborating with Taylor Swift

Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott are known for their creative force, and lately they’ve been known specifically for Taylor Swift’s album art.

The two photographers are known for the hyper-saturated images and their creative eye for a good photo. When you see a photo that is from Mert and Marcus, you know it’s from them. They have a signature look and it fits perfectly for Taylor Swift’s latest album reputation. 

As you can see, the album artwork has Mert and Marcus written all over it, which fits perfectly for the statement Swift is ready to make with her new album, which is set to hit stores on November 10.

While Mert and Marcus have collaborated with several artists and models before (Kate Moss, in particular), Swift has got to be one of the best. Not only is the artwork edgy but it’s beautiful. Mert and Marcus are the ones that portrayed the story in a single photo so effortlessly.

In a recent interview with TIME Magazine, the photography duo opened up about collaborating with Swift and whether or not they have heard the entirety of her brand new album. If they have, what do they think of it? Well, they spill and it’s pretty juicy.

“Amazing! Super collaborative; she’s got the most incredible photographic eye. The first time that we worked with her years ago, we connected then and there. I like when someone has an opinion and a point of view and Taylor had an incredible point of view,” Mert states when talking about collaborating with the singer. “We had a lot of different ideas to do before the shoot and then the day of, we were changing everything, like maybe we should do this, maybe we should do that. It was totally fruit of collaboration. She’s a very cool chick.”

Not to mention, the duo has also mentioned whether or not they’ve heard Swift’s new album. “We haven’t listened to the whole album but what we’ve heard of it is good”. Well, we know we didn’t get much from them, but something is better than nothing right?
