The Genius Message Behind Taylor Swift’s New Album Cover

Today, August 23, Taylor Swift unveiled her album cover for his sixth studio album Reputation. The album drops November 10, 2017.

As you can see, the album is a photo of Swift with half of her face covered in headlines and the other half clear. This is the first time since the Speak Now era where Swift is revealing her entire face on an album cover.

What does it all mean? It displays a powerful message and one that only Swift can capture perfectly. The half of her face with headlines plastered everywhere with her name symbolizes how the media portrays her and how they are the ones who, for some reason, love to ruin a reputation.

The side of her face that is headline free is the side that portrays how those closest to her and her fans see her. It reveals who she really is as a person. Not to mention, the chain around her neck is her feeling chained down by the media and all their lies.

In a beautiful and genius way, Swift is taking back the narrative and putting it into art. She’s switching things around and letting the world know that she is not the person the media has portrayed her to be over the last few years. She’s coming out stronger and better than ever. In a way, this era is a rebirth for Swift. It’s an era we are so excited to be a part of.

November 10 can not come soon enough.

Swift’s lead single for Reputation will drop tomorrow (August 25) at Midnight EST.
