If you haven’t read the latest Taylor Swift news lately, you notice a lot of click bait articles filled with headlines revealing that Lorde and Taylor are fighting or Karlie Kloss secretly threw shade at Taylor. While articles like this make one want to click, they shouldn’t.  Why? Because these publications are willing to misconstrue words and actions to make it seem like one thing is happening when it’s actually not.

The most recent headline is:

This is interesting but it’s inaccurate. The actual question aimed at Lorde was about the people she idolized or looked up to. Swift was never mentioned. And perhaps Lorde doesn’t appreciate the word ‘squad’ because Swift or her other friends never called it that to begin with.

It’s easy to twist words around and say that Swift is feuding with others because it’s good for clicks but ultimately, it’s spreading a rumor. We haven’t heard much from Swift but we know that she supports her friends and vice versa. It’s evident on social media, interviews and other sources.

Needless to say, it’s important to note that a lot of these headlines have fabricated stories that aren’t true. Just because we haven’t seen Swift or her friends together in months doesn’t mean they aren’t friends anymore. It’s okay to hang out with your friends in private, and it’s also okay to go on social media and defend them when the media is attacking. Swift and her friends shouldn’t be used for click bait or as a way to get views.  With that, we can proudly say that we are confident that Swift has an amazing group of friends and family that support her and encourage her, even when the media is attacking. She is a human just like the rest of us. Let’s treat her that way.
